Eggnog cocktails are a staple in kitchens, dining rooms and family rooms this time of the year! Typically they appear in the form of punch-bowl style drinks, or mixers with nothing more than rum and some ice. Did you know with a little more imagination you can take the plain old rum and eggnog to the next level? This is a delicious pumpkin spice eggnog cocktail that will make a festive splash for your holiday celebrations this year.

How to Customize This Cocktail

Using regular ol’ Kahlua as per the instructions is totally fine, but there is a way you can spice it up even a little more! Did you know they made a holiday flavored version? That’s right! You can pick up a bottle of pumpkin spice flavored Kahlua to up the ante, as it were. Is it overkill on the pumpkin spice? IS there even such a thing as ‘too much’ pumpkin spice flavor?? Bring a little more spice into your life by customizing this cocktail any way you like!

Personally, we love the cinnamon stick garnish. It adds the perfect little extra touch to really give this cocktail some great presentation value. If you really want to ‘Pinterest it up’ a notch, you can swap out glasses, or use custom ice cube molds to make these drinks even more eye-catching.

As far as the flavor goes, you can always use a syrup, spice or a little extra creamer to amp things up a bit.

Wait, Can You Serve This Hot?

Without the inclusion of ice cubes, obviously, you can totally microwave this drink for a truly old fashioned spin on this delightful cocktail! It takes hardly any extra time, and adds a completely new dimension to this drink, making it great for cold winter nights, too! I mean, who can really blame you for not wanting something iced after a day in the chill and snow?

Doing so is incredibly simple. Just grab your favorite hot drink mug. (One that’s microwave safe!) And place it in the microwave in 30 second bursts. Keep doing this until it’s as hot as you’d like! Then, just add the rest of the ingredients kind of like you would with your morning coffee.

The ingredients and instructions for this cocktail below detail making it over ice, but you can take it however you’d like!
