Although you won’t be getting thyme essential oil in this recipe, it can be a natural cough remedy. In fact, a combination of thyme and ivy leaves helped alleviate coughing and other symptoms of acute bronchitis.
#3 It Boosts your Immune System
Who knew you could get a boost of vitamins just by drinking a cocktail? Well, thyme is packed with vitamin C and is a great source of vitamin A. Additionally it’s a good source of copper, fiber, iron, and manganese. So, get your drink on!
#4 It Could Help Prevent Cancers
In Turkey, researches were looking at the effect of thyme on breast cancer. They specifically looked at how it affected apoptoses (cell death). What they found in this study was that thyme actually caused cell death in breast cancer cells!

Thyme and Tonic Cocktail
Made with fresh peaches, thyme, and gin, this is the perfect after-work cocktail! Of course, it is great for summer days, BBQs, and as a relaxing drink in the evening. This recipe makes two drinks, so you can have one now and one later. Here’s what you need!
- ½ fresh Peach, diced
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 oz Gin
- Tonic Water
How to Make a Thyme and Tonic Cocktail
Step 1: In a shaker, muddle together the peach and thyme until a syrup forms.
Step 2: Add in the gin and ice. Shake until thoroughly chilled.
Step 3: Strain into two cups, and top with tonic water.
Step 4: Garnish with peaches and thyme, if desired.
