What Are Irish Whiskey Brownies?

Irish whiskey brownies are the ultimate adult dessert to enjoy at your next get together, or to curl up on the couch and watch a movie. Who doesn’t love a boozy brownie? These brownies are the perfect combination of chocolate and Whiskey.

The Irish whiskey stands out just enough to make them the perfect boozy treat. Not to mention, the delicious whiskey infused frosting it’s topped with! Check out our full ingredients and instructions below for our Irish Whiskey brownies.

Are Irish Whiskey Brownies Hard to Make?

To make your Irish Whiskey brownies you will need a box of fudge brownie mix, canola oil, eggs, water, and Irish Whiskey! Using your hand mixer or a standing mixer mix your ingredients together until combined well.

Pour into a parchment lined 9×9 baking pan and place into a preheated oven at 350 degrees. Once your brownies are baked, allow plenty of time to cool off. Do not put frosting on until brownies are fully cooled off.

To create your delicious Irish chocolate frosting you will need unsweetened chocolate, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, half and half, Irish whiskey, and vanilla extract.

Combine ingredients and mix well to create the frosting – taste to ensure you’ve added enough whiskey, for full detailed instructions see below.

Recipe Alternatives

If you prefer to make your own brownie base simply add Whiskey to your recipe to create the Irish take on it. Just ensure you lower your liquid content so your batter doesn’t become too watery

If you love brownies but aren’t a huge fan of Whiskey never fear,, you can use VODKA! Yes, vodka. Use the exact same amount for both the brownie mixture and frosting.

It will change the taste and they technically wouldn’t be called “Irish” but they sure are delicious and may be more your style than Whiskey ones!
