Baby showers are a fun occasion where everyone can get together to celebrate a baby that’s on the way. They’re usually thrown for a mom-to-be before the baby is born -which means serving cocktails is out of the question. To help you plan some baby safe beverages, here’s the best mocktail recipe books for baby showers.

All of these recipe books are jam-packed with ideas that will let you treat an expecting mother. It’s also handy to have some mocktail recipes on hand whenever you’re entertaining, just in case someone doesn’t drink alcohol or is the designated driver.

A mocktail recipe book isn’t just great for hosting baby showers, it would also make a great gift idea for an expecting mother.

What is a Mocktail?

A mocktail is a cocktail recipe that doesn’t contain any alcohol. It’s a great choice for a mom-to-be because abstaining from alcohol at an event like a baby shower might make her feel left out.

Mocktails are a great way to have fun drinks without needing any liquor added. Kids also love them!

Should You Serve Alcohol at a Baby Shower?

This depends on the guests and the time of day. If you’re having people over who would normally enjoy adult beverages at an event like this, it’s pretty standard to have at least a few alcoholic options.

When it comes to alcohol at a baby shower it’s usually a couple bottles of wine or a nice mixed punch.

But that doesn’t mean you’re required to serve alcohol, either. Since pregnant people can’t drink, and a baby shower is usually being held for a pregnant person, it would make sense to only serve stuff that everyone can enjoy.

If you do serve alcohol, make sure alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails are clearly labelled so there’s no mixups.

All of these mocktail recipe books are great for baby showers as both drink ideas and to be given as gifts. It was quite challenging to pick the best one out of such a strong arrangement of great recipe books.

That being said, the best mocktail recipe book for baby showers has to go to the “Drinking for Two: Nutritious Mocktails for the Mom-To-Be” book.

It ticked every box that makes a great cookbook: beautiful interior layout, high quality pictures, nice printing quality and paper, and, most importantly, delicious recipes.

Actually, the recipes were more than delicious which is another reason why this mocktail book stood out: they were also healthy and not loaded with a bunch of sugar. Even if you’re not pregnant it’s a great book if you’re trying to cut out the unhealthiness of alcoholic mixed drinks.

In fact, versatility is another reason why this is one of the best mocktail recipe books out there: it’s not just for pregnant people – anyone can enjoy these recipes.

One downside is that it’s branded for moms-to-be which leaves out other groups. If you plan on picking it up for a baby shower and then keeping it on hand for your friends who don’t drink, they might feel weird choosing recipes from a mommy book. Especially one filled with pregnancy tips.

That’s not enough of a reason not to recommend it, though. Last, but definitely not the least important feature, is that it has a bunch of large quantity recipes in it too. These recipes are another reason this book is perfect for a baby shower.

Best Mocktail Recipe Book for Baby Showers – Final Thoughts

Mocktails are great for pregnant folks to enjoy something a little more fancy than seltzer and stop feeling left out when everyone else is drinking. They’re also nice to serve to anyone who is trying to avoid drinking.
