This delicious and delightful boozy s’mores in a cup is made using your favorite brand of graham cracker crumbs, or full crackers smashed up, some marshmallows, hot chocolate mix and a portion of creme de cacao. Each sip takes you back to a campsite, and there’s even a little trick to make those marshmallows taste just like they’re freshly roasted! 

What is Creme de Cacao? 

Creme de Cacao is a liquor made from cocoa beans! It gives off a hint of dark chocolate, and a slight boozy kick. As a cocktail ingredient, it’s most popularly featured in the chocolate martini. 

What Makes This Nostalgic Cocktail Worth Trying? 

If the classic graham cracker s’mores taste doesn’t do it for you, the toppings and totally unique preparation method will! If you’re wondering whether or not this really tastes much like a s’more, you’re in for quite the surprise indeed. 

The mini marshmallows on top of this hot chocolate cocktail are finished off with either a blowtorch, (or the broiler in your oven!) This gives them the perfectly charred, ‘roasted’ texture and taste that just makes a s’more a s’more! (That means you, microwave s’more people).

  • Hot Chocolate Mix
  • Graham cracker crumbs or 2 graham crackers
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Caramel sauce
  • Marshmallows, full size
  • Marshmallows, mini
  • 3 oz creme de cacao

Ingredients

  • Hot Chocolate Mix
  • Graham cracker crumbs or 2 graham crackers
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Caramel sauce
  • Marshmallows, full size
  • Marshmallows, mini
  • 3 oz creme de cacao

Instructions

If using, place graham crackers in a Ziplock bag and smash into crumbs. Put graham cracker crumbs onto a shallow place. On a different shallow plate, drizzle chocolate sauce in a circle approximately the diameter of your mugs.

Take your mug and swirl the rim in the chocolate sauce. You'll want to get some chocolate sauce on the sides.

Roll the chocolate sauce in the graham cracker crumbs.

Prepare the hot cocoa mix in a 2 cup glass measuring cup, so that it is easy to pour into your mugs. Add 3 oz creme de cacao. Split hot cocoa mix evenly between mugs.

Top with mini marshmallows, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce.

Keeping safety in mind, toast a large marshmallow. Place marshmallow on a fondue fork and toast with a blow torch, or by rotating next to your oven element on broil.
