Who Is Kaa The Snake Referenced in this Cocktail?

We won’t judge if you need a refresher of who Kaa The Snake is! Besides being a 30 foot snake he’s a pretty character.

If you are familiar with the book he’s more of an ally of the main protagonist Mowgli, he’s a friend and trusted mentor alongside Bagheera and Baloo. However in the Disney movie he’s more portrayed as a secondary antagonist who actually attempts to eat Mowgli. Crazy! Whatever version you prefer, we feel this cocktail represents him well.

Can We Make it a Mocktail?

Of Course! To turn this cocktail into a mocktail you need to replace the spiced rum, midori, and mango passion rum. Your OJ, Tropical juice, cake shimmer, and grenadine remain the same.

Spice Rum: You have a few options for this one, you can replace it with coke or pepsi (depending on your preference) with a splash of vanilla added to it. Or you can purchase some non alcoholic spiced rum and add. Depending on the guests you plan to serve the mocktail too.

Midori: Replace Midori with a melon juice, midori has a sweet melon taste so replacing it with regular melon juice will keep the flavor profile the exact same.

Mango Passion Rum: Replace your Mango Passion Rum with Mango fruit juice! You want the mango flavor for this drink! Trust us.

Ingredients:

1 oz Spiced Rum
1 oz Midori
½ oz Mango Passion Rum
2 oz Oj
2 oz Tropical Juice
1 drop green food coloring
1 tsp cake shimmer
2 tsp. Grenadine
Suggested garnish: Pineapple stems, cherries. Orange and mint

Instructions:

In a bar shaker add all of the liquors except grenadine , and juice.
Shake to combine.
Pour your liquor mixture into a glass.
Add your shimmer and stir to combine.
Pour your cocktail in an ice filled glass.
Add your grenadine.
Garnish.
