Summery Green and Blue Lake Days Shot Recipe

Planning a party at the lake or just wanting to envision yourself at the lake this Lake Days shot is the perfect one for you! The beautiful green and blue layers are stunning but the flavor is the total winning factor!

The melon from the Midori and the orange and hint of bitters from the blue curacao work so well together! With only two ingredients it’s very easy to mix these up for guests.

Check out our instructions on how to create your delicious lake days shot below.

To Garnish or Not to Garnish Your Shots

Although garnishing doesn’t always seem necessary, if you are thinking you want to add something special to these shots consider adding some maraschino cherries to your drink. You can also purchase some fish gummies and put them in, if you are wanting something fun!

Edible sparkles are always fun, and can make your lake shot shine even more.

There’s no wrong answer for picking garnish so if you feel you want to add something feel free to go wild!

Make a Non-Alcoholic Lake Days Shot Instead

If you are planning to have underage guests or those that aren’t drinking consider making a non-alcoholic lake days shot for everyone to enjoy. For this particular shot you will need to replace both ingredients.

For replacing Midori we suggest melon juice! Since Midori is a sweet melon liquor, with notes of honeydew and muskmelon. You can find melon juice at most grocery stores.

If you are unable to find melon juice consider purchasing a honeydew melon and just blending that up so you have 2 oz for each shot or if you are able to find both, grab a honeydew and muskmelon and blend together.

Replacing Blue Curacao we suggest an orange juice with a splash of bitters. Now you may be wondering why orange juice, it’s simple. Blue Curacao has a sweet orange peel taste with a bitter finish. Now you won’t have that pretty blue color so consider adding blue food coloring to your orange juice.

If you would rather stick with the color scheme and aren’t worried about matching the flavor profile add blueberry juice or any blue juice. This will have a similar color, however the flavor will change. Don’t be afraid to experiment with various flavors to come up with your own non-alcoholic version!
