How to Make This Cocktail Non-Alcoholic

If you want to create a Mango Mexican Firing Squad Cocktail that is non-alcoholic so all guests can have the option to enjoy it, we have a few suggestions on how to turn this into a mocktail! Often mocktails simply omit any alcohol in the drink.

However, that often just creates a super sweet juice! So finding ways to make a drink without losing some flavor is a win. For this recipe we suggest heading to your local store that sells alcohol and non-alcohol mixes. You can often find non-alcoholic tequila on those shelves. It’s nowhere near as popular as other non-alcoholic drinks like wine and beer, but they do make it.

If you’re lucky enough to find it we highly suggest grabbing some to have on hand. Now if you can’t find this you can also replace tequila with plain soda and a splash of lime (this recipe already calls for lime so just add a little more). Since one of the tequilas is a chipotle flavor, add a dash of your favorite chipotle sauce to this drink. When it comes to replacing the amaro, find some chinotto!

Chinotto is Italy’s answer to coke and is a good non-alcoholic option for replacing amaro. Now you may be thinking, why not add coke then? Totally an option as well, just add a touch more bitters since Chinotto is produced from the juice of the myrtle-leaved orange tree and has a bittersweet taste, similar to Amaro which has a bitter punch. These alternatives are sure to please any non drinkers or mocktail fans in the crowd.

Tips for Making This Cocktail

A few tips and ideas for our recipe! If you are unable to track down mango nectar, use mango juice! It won’t provide the same consistency but the flavor will be there.

For your garnish we mentioned jalapenos on top, however if you want to add an extra punch to your drink add a few to the drink and mix well! Jalapenos infuse easily and really add some heat.

Cherries, orange slices, and pineapples really work well with this drink, you can use fresh fruit or you can purchase frozen fruit to add. This will keep the drink extra cold and slowly infuse into the drink.

Lime and lemon are always a classic to have on hand and would work very well with this drink. Don’t be afraid to experiment! Making a pitcher of these drinks is easy as well, just times the ingredients to the number of drinks you want! Make one pitcher with alcohol and one without! Just be sure you label them. Enjoy!
