What Kind of Vodka Should You Use?

This part is totally up to you, although we do have some recommendations to make these shooters something truly memorable! To mix things up a bit, consider some unique flavored vodkas like these! 

  • Finlandia Cranberry: Add some flavor to the ‘red’, in the ‘red, white and blue’ with this smooth cranberry-flavored vodka!

Prep Time: 20 Minutes Time to Set: 6 hours, divided

  1. Place 2 oz plastic dessert cups into cupcake tins or into a shallow baking dish to keep them from sliding going to and from the refrigerator.
  2. In a medium bowl, add strawberry jello mix, then stir in 1 cup of boiling water. Once Jello dissolves, add 1 cup vodka, and stir. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes, then pour into your jello shot cups, filling them â…“ of the way full.
  3. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.
  4. For the next layer, in a medium bowl add 2 packets of unflavored knox gelatin. Stir in 2 cups of boiling water. Once gelatin is dissolved, add sweetened condensed milk and mix well. Allow to cool for 25-30 minutes. If it is too warm when added, the red jello will run. Add the white jello mixture to the cups, filling another â…“ of the way. Place in the refrigerator for another 2 hours to set.
  5. In a medium bowl, add berry blue jello mix. Stir in 1 cup boiling water. Once dissolved, stir in 1 cup of vodka. Allow to cool for 25-30 minutes. Add the final blue layer, filling close to the top of the cups. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.
  6. Top your jello shots with whipped cream, patriotic sprinkles, maraschino cherries, or any other festive toppings you like.

These patriotic jello shots are the perfect drink to serve at your next 4th of July party!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. box of Strawberry Jello mix
  • 3 oz. box of Berry Blue Jello mix
  • 2 packets of Knox unflavored gelatin
  • 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 cups boiling water, divided
  • 2 cups vodka, divided
  • Whipped cream, sprinkles, maraschino cherries for topping

Instructions

    1. Place 2 oz plastic dessert cups into cupcake tins or into a shallow baking dish to keep them from sliding going to and from the refrigerator.
    2. In a medium bowl, add strawberry jello mix, then stir in 1 cup of boiling water. Once Jello dissolves, add 1 cup vodka, and stir. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes, then pour into your jello shot cups, filling them ⅓ of the way full.
