Once you’ve got those chopped up and ready to go, make sure your baking pan is well based with a spray grease, or your non-stick agent of choice. This is absolutely crucial, since you don’t want to end up scraping baked-on bread pieces from your favourite pan.

That being said, we didn’t find this recipe particularly difficult to take on. Beginners will be able to flex some baking prowess with a delicious and approachable recipe that guests will love!

Tips and Substitutions for Bread Pudding

You can jump right into the glaze while your bread pudding is cooling! Add in your egg and sugar and stir until combined and thick enough to coat the back off your spoon. Making sure the glaze is thick enough to stick to the bread pudding is crucial, otherwise you’ll end up with a bit of a mess.

Remove from heat and slowly add your bourdon, tasting as you go. Once you’ve reached the desired taste remove your bread pudding from the pan and pour your glave over it.

If you don’t happen to have stale donuts lying around just head to any store or bakery that sells donuts and ask for day old donuts. Not only are they marked majorly down but any store will be happy to get rid of them!
