How to Make This Drink a Mocktail

The option of turning any drink into a mocktail is always a must these days, that way everyone can enjoy a fun themed drink, even kids when you are hosting or making a fun evening out of it. How perfect would these look at a mermaid themed party? To turn these Little mermaid cocktail shots into a mocktail shot simply remove the alcohol. When it comes to replacing we have a few suggestions.

For your blue curacao we suggest a simple orange juice switch out since grenadine is just a liquor made with orange bitter peels. You can always add a splash of bitters if you want but we feel just the orange juice will do, however since orange juice is a very different color than blue curacao we suggest adding a few drops of blue food coloring to this drink. For replacing the pineapple rum you can double up your pineapple juice or you can add ½ oz of coke.

Lastly, to substitute grenadine we suggest pomegranate juice since this is one of the main flavors found in this type of liquor. This will create a delicious fruity mocktail everyone can enjoy. As we mentioned above the color scheme may look different so play with some coloring or swap for other fruit juices. You really can’t go wrong with fruit juices.

Little Mermaid Cocktail Garnish Tips

Garnishing isn’t often seen on shot glasses but if you are planning an Under the Sea mermaid themed party you could get a little fancy. Adding some edible sparkles to the top of this drink will add some magic to your shot and everyone will get a kick out of it. Fruit is always a  classic too, orange slices, pineapple pieces, or even some limes would all work well with these flavors. Another fun idea if you want to have something for your mocktails, or even the regular shots, are some cool whip and gummies shaped like underwater creatures like whales and sharks. Don’t be afraid to get creative and have some fun!
