I love drinking wine. I donā€™t love bottles that drip every time theyā€™re poured. There are plenty of ways to get around the sometimes messy, always inconvenient act of tipping over tall bottles, (especially once you start to get near the bottom!) Wine dispensers are one of the most overlooked gadgets in a wine loverā€™s cabinet. Iā€™ve sought out a selection of accessories to figure out which among them is the best wine dispenser.

Why do I Need a Wine Dispenser?

Letā€™s just say itā€™s one of those mainstays that you canā€™t live without once youā€™ve had the chance to try using one. Kind of like a Keurig coffee maker effect, if you catch my drift.

They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, uses and designs all of which are contending for your valuable counter and cabinet space. Thereā€™s a few things youā€™ll have to put to thought before choosing a wine dispenser. Where will you be using it? How many people/glasses of wine are you serving? Is style and design important to you and how much do you want to shell out for one?

What is the Best Wine Dispenser?

Wine dispensers, unlike decanter, often rely on some sort of mechanism, or at the very least a spout to deliver wine to your tragically empty glass. Finding the best wine accessories, gadgets and tools can be quite the journey. Sifting through whatā€™s available on the market, Iā€™ve been able to find a number of wine dispensers that suit a variety of different needs. After reviewing each of them on the basis of value, efficiency and of course style Iā€™ll reveal what my top wine dispenser is out of the lot!

Take a look at some of the wine dispensers Iā€™ve tracked down to see what features and factors I loved and loathed!

Waerator Electric Wine Pourer

This nifty little device serves several purposes, one is a general purpose electric wine aerator, and the other is a small portable wine dispenser. Running on two double A batteries it delivers fast flowing aerated wine at the simple press of a button. This wine dispenser scores high for ease of use and simplicity, which is perhaps itā€™s biggest selling feature.

Itā€™s about baseball sized, and sits at the top of a standard sized 750ml bottle. Itā€™s easy to keep clean too, this can be done by running it in a water filled wine bottle to flush away the old stuff when you break out a new bottle halfway through the night! This wine dispenser is inexpensive and useful, and will fit comfortably in a drawer or wine bag.

Pros:

  • Simple to use
  • Small, portable design
  • Provides additional aeration

Cons:

  • Inner tube that transfers the wine into the device is at times too long, interfering with the dimple in many 750ml bottles

Boxxle Box Wine Dispenser

For the boxed wine lovers among us, this nifty and stylish little countertop dispenser is the ultimate entertainer for your next wine party. Bring the wine bar experience home and enjoy your boxed wines while classing it up a bit in the process. First off, thereā€™s nothing wrong with enjoying boxed wine, in fact you can find a lot of different varieties out there from smaller vineyards if you look!

The promise of this device is wine by the glass, without having to worry about maintaining freshness. An open bag of wine can last as long as 6 weeks after being opened with this device that maintains freshness so you can enjoy individual glasses of wine whenever youā€™d like. It holds as large as a 3 litre bag, and its above-the-glass mechanism uses gravity to empty the bag completely so thereā€™s no wine that goes to waste. The other upside to the system this wine dispenser uses is that it provides consistent pressure that both keeps the wine fresh and flowing free.

Pros:

  • Low profile countertop design
  • Easy to load with as much as 3l of bagged wine
  • Good dispensing for a mid-range price point

Cons:

  • Does not work with wine bottles

Cavevinum Dispenser

If you really want to replicate the wine bar look and feel right in your own home or personal bar setup, this wine dispenser provides the perfect middle ground. Stylish and highly practical this four-bottle capacity wine dispenser has the potential to be the centre of some really awesome wine tasting nights.

This dispenser is ideal for entertaining during wine parties. You can serve four different bottles at once while still preserving their freshness, so you can satisfy each of your guestā€™s individual tastes. Itā€™s worth mentioning that this unit is the first one the higher level of our price scale, although it delivers through functionality and style.

Pros:

  • Elegant and stylish design for home bars or kitchen counters
  • Dispenses four different bottles at once

Cons:

  • Very high price tag relative to other dispensers
  • Only uses compressed air for cooling

Belwares Electric Wine Bottle Dispenser

Combining wine dispensing and an aerator all in one, this dispenser houses a single bottle and promises easy and stylish wine dispensing. At the push of a button you can fill a standard sized glass from a 750 ml bottle. Running on only a couple of double a batteries, itā€™s practical and portable occupying little counter space and making the perfect little wine serving device for your kitchen or home wine bar. This wine dispenser includes a ventilator that aerates the wine as itā€™s poured, with one simple touch you can experience a well-rounded fresh glass of your favorite wine.

Thatā€™s not all, an interior cooling cup houses your wine bottle to chill it as much or as little as youā€™d like. This can be placed in the fridge or freezer and placed around the bottle prior to inserting it into the wine dispenser. If youā€™re a cold wine lover, this one is a great option. It might not be the most practical set up for larger gatherings however. Serving just one bottle at a time, switching them out throughout the evening would probably be quite tedious. This oneā€™s best suited for the individual, or couple enjoying a bottle of wine to themselves. It doesn’t command a lot of space, and itā€™s stylish enough for the counter top or wine bar.

Pros:

  • Mid-range price tag is reasonable for what it promises
  • Good overall design
  • Aeration + wine dispensing

  • Only holds one bottle at a time
  • Not ideal for several wine drinkers at once

If youā€™re wondering what the best wine dispenser you can buy is, Iā€™ve got it right in these reviews. If youā€™re looking for my top choice of wine dispenser, Iā€™ve got that one as well. Let me explain.

The Plum wine dispenser is the most feature-rich and specialized wine dispenser you can buy out of every one of the ones Iā€™ve listed. That being said itā€™s biggest downside is also the biggest price tag Iā€™ve seen so far. That means itā€™s most definitely not my top choice for best wine dispenser. There are however features that you like from that machine specifically, that perspective is a great way to figure out which wine dispenser would be the best fit for you.

For me the Belwares electric wine dispenser is the best runner up. For my needs, which is only one bottle running at a time over the course of an evening. Itā€™s a great addition to my countertop, keeping the wine bottle ready for whenever the next time I fancy a glass. Itā€™s all about convenience, and this device hits the right cost for value, thanks to the aeration it provides as well. For a wine dispenser, the Belwares is my go to!

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out these reviews for the best wine dispensers! Have you ever had the chance to use a wine dispenser before, what was your favorite feature from it?
