The great thing about this experience is that you don’t have to be a pro biker to do it. The roads are quiet and perfect for any experience of cyclists. Marlborough Wine Trail, New Zealand
The Marlborough Wine Trail is a gorgeous region of vineyards found in the picturesque mountains of New Zealand. Because all the tasting rooms in this wine country are very close, it makes more sense to travel the trail by bike.
Wineries in Marlborough welcome cyclists of all kinds and even have bike racks outside of the wineries. Many of the wineries along this trail still offer free tastings, however, most will charge a small fee of $3-5 bucks!
Willamette Valley, Oregon
In Willamette Valley, Oregon, You can sip your wine while cycling through a 134 mile bikway called the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. The bikeway follows the Willamette Valley river winding through the coast range to the west and towering the Cascade Mountains in the east.
This route is more moderate than easy and is geared more towards serious cyclers than those with minimal experience. But this two-wheeled adventure of rustic farms and colorful vineyards promises to be nothing, but spectacular.
Wachau Valley, Austria
If you have ever wanted to visit the medieval castles, the Benedictine abbey, and the never ending stone-terraced vineyards in Austria, Wachau Valley is calling your name! To bike through this magical valley, you will want to take the Danube Cycle Path.
The stretch along this path is full of historic towns and serene landscapes. Taking a day trip from Vienna through the Danube Cycle Path makes for a great day of biking and wine tasting. Don’t forget to stop at some of the local wineries along your way.
