This Canadian Victorian Raspberry Cocktail is so patriotic it’ll have you singing “Oh Canada” all night long! The red fruit and raspberry mix with the white ice to create the classic Canadian red and white combination seen in the flag. Oh, and you can’t forget the secret ingredient: maple syrup.

Canadian Victorian Raspberry Cocktail

Canada is known for its hockey, cold winters, and sweet Maple Syrup! So nothing is more True North than a cocktail that mixes Canadian whisky and maple syrup together.

The smoky undertones from the whisky really stand out in this cocktail while the raspberry syrup adds fruity and tart flavors. Maple syrup adds that rich delicious craveable sweet taste. Honestly can it get any better? Check out our full ingredients and instructions on how to create our Canadian Victorian Raspberry cocktails recipe below!

How Can I Substitute Liquid in This Cocktail?

Soda water: You can use regular soda water from your soda stream instead of club soda if you wish.

Raspberry syrup: If you are unable to find raspberry syrup feel free to use raspberry juice as a replacement, just be careful how much you add as juices can be very sweet. Always taste before serving!

Can I Use Frozen Raspberries?

Frozen raspberries are always acceptable as a replacement for fresh, they will help keep your drinks cold and you won’t have to worry about having fresh ones on hand. So many drinks use raspberries these days so why not buy a bag of frozen raspberries to have in your freezer!

Whisky Options

Although we highly recommend using a Canadian Whiskey for this drink. I recommend Crown Royal or Kirkland Canadian Whisky brands, if you have it. If you aren’t able to track some down feel free to substitute with another Canadian whisky. Another idea is to substitute Jack Daniels whiskey; believe it or not, it’s actually similar to crown and the sour will mix well with the sweet maple syrup flavours of this recipe.

What Maple Syrup Do I Use?

When it comes to your Maple syrup make sure you get a nice thick real maple syrup to make this drink really stand out! Don’t cheap out and get the imitation syrup for this one; real maple syrup is the way to go.

Make it a Patriotic Canadian Mocktail

We love a good mocktail! For our Canadian Victorian Raspberry Cocktail it’s as simple as removing the Canadian Whiskey and replacing it with lemon juice and simple syrup. These two ingredients are often used to replace whiskey for mocktails.

Another option often used is maple syrup or honey in the place of simple syrup. Since this recipe already has maple syrup we suggest honey or simple syrup or your drink will become very sweet. Lastly, you can use a strong-brewed barley tea. This will help keep the malty and spice taste that whiskey has. If you choose this route add a splash of lemon still.

So there you have it, a few different options on how to create a Mocktail!
