Mixing up your Pineapple Dragon Fruit Margarita

Did you know dragon fruit is one of very few fresh fruit that actually contain Iron? Pretty amazing. It’s also packed with tons of important vitamins and minerals. So really, you can make this Margarita and not have any guilt since it contains fresh dragon fruit. Plus all the delicious tropical juices and delicious tequila and triple sec. This Margarita is a blast of tropical flavors that is an absolute must make today!

Can We Make it a Mocktail?

Absolutely! You can turn this delicious margarita into a fruit mocktail everyone can enjoy, even kids! Replace your tequila with soda water or ginger ale (this would be a personal preference). This will allow all the other flavors to still stand out.

You can also consider using non-alcoholic tequila if you want to still have the taste of tequila in the mocktail. You will also need to sub out the triple sec, for this one use orange soda water or orange juice. All other ingredients can remain the same!

Pineapple Dragon Fruit Margarita - Salted rim, fresh dragon fruit, pineapple, and lime wedge as garnish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila Gold
  • 2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 Fresh yellow dragon fruit, cut in half and flesh scooped out
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 2 oz Tropical Fruit juice
  • 1 fresh lime, juiced
  • Cheese cloth
  • Ice
  • Dragon fruit slices for garnish
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Pineapple wedges for garnish

Directions:

  1. Using a small glass, place the dragon fruit flesh onto the center of the cheesecloth and wrap the cheesecloth around the fruit.
  2. Squeeze the juice from the dragon fruit into the glass
  3. Add juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the tequila, triple sec, dragon fruit juice, Pineapple Juice ,
    tropical fruit juice, lime juice
  4. Give the shaker a few good shakes and then pour into a 8oz glass filled with ice
  5. Garnish with lime wedge, Pineapple Wedges, and dragon fruit wheel
  6. Enjoy!
