How to Make a Tropical Whisky Sour Cocktail

With tropical juices and strong whiskey and rum after tastes this drink is perfect for a day in the sun or an evening under the stars. Throw in some pineapple slices, oranges, and maraschino cherries and you have the perfect fruity garnish. Check out our full ingredients and instructions for our Tropical Whisky sour cocktail recipe below.

Garnishing Your Whisky Sour

First off, we highly suggest buying a pineapple before you mix up some Tropical Whisky sours! Not only can you use pineapple slices to garnish the side of your drinks but you can use the pineapple steams (or crowns) as a really unique garnish! Any leftover pineapple not being used for your drinks can be made into juice or enjoyed as a healthy snack!

For other garnishes maraschino cherries are always on the list for drinks, especially tropical ones! Throw a few of those in as well as cara orange slices. Cara oranges are seedless which makes them perfect for using in drinks, seriously no one wants to find seeds floating in their drink. Not to mention how juicy and sweet they are! Perfect addition to any drink.

If you aren’t able to find these or aren’t fans of them consider using some lemon and limes on the side. Always a classic. Whatever you choose to garnish your drink with, we hope you enjoy it!

Make a Non-Alcoholic Tropical Sour Mocktail

To create a tropical mocktail replace your Caribbean whisky and orange whiskey with a non-alcoholic whisky. Add ½ an oz of orange juice and a splash of bitters (whichever one you prefer) to help create the sour taste.

When it comes to replacing rum you can buy the non-alcoholic kind, try molasses with a splash of almond extract, or coke. Experiment and find which ones match your taste buds best. Garnish and enjoy!

Add fun umbrellas or use different glasses to ensure no one mixes up their regular cocktails with a mocktail. If you did purchase a pineapple like we suggested above, consider blending some up to add more pineapple flavor to your mocktails! You can also add some to your regular cocktail too!

If you are wanting a kid friendly drink we suggest using coke and orange juice only. You may add bitters if the child likes sour tastes.
