It’s time to celebrate our Independence! We take for granted a lot of the freedoms and privileges we have in the U.S of A. So, as you sip your Red White & Blue Rose Wine Spritz don’t forget to remember just how good you have it that you can drink whenever you want. I mean I can’t imagine some of these other very controlling countries that won’t allow you a cocktail after a hard day with the kids. When it comes to celebrating the 4th of July, make sure your cocktail screams red, white, and blue!
Red White & Blue Rose Wine Spritz Ingredients
This recipe makes one cocktail and only takes 2-minutes to make.
- 1 strawberry
- 4-5 blueberries
- ice
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 3 oz Rose’ wine
- 3 oz Lemon Lime Soda
What is Rose’ Wine?
Rose’ wine is a pinkish wine that has some of the same qualities and flavors that you get from red wines. However, a rose’ wine is fruitier in character, and it can be sparkling as well s range in taste from sweet to dry. For this recipe, you want to pair a sweet rose wine to compliment your strawberries and blueberries.
Can I Use Any Lemon Lime Soda?
In this recipe, we used Sprite, but you could use other lemon lime types of soda if you choose. In fact, you may prefer something a little different.
For me, I tend to get sleepy when I drink wine. If you are looking for a pick me up, you could consider using the new Mountain Dew iCE or Mello Yellow. If you are already feeling tired before you drink, this may be a great option to keep you up until the fireworks are over. Keep in mind it may have a little different taste.
Additionally, you don’t have to go with name brands. Generic lemon lime sodas work just as well.
How to Make a Red White & Blue Rose Wine Spritz
This spritz is the perfect cocktail to sip on throughout the day. Its got a kick and can mess you up if you drink it too quickly, but if you sip on it throughout the day, you will have a nice buzz all day long. Here’s how you make it:
Step 1: In glass of choice muddle strawberry and blueberries.
Step 2: Then fill your glass with ice.
Step 3: Add vodka, Rose’ wine, and sprite.
Step 4: Stir and serve.
What Does it Mean to Muddle?
In the directions, it says to muddle the strawberries and blueberries, but what exactly does that mean to do? To muddle means that you press the ingredients or in this case fruit against the sides of the glass with a muddler or spoon. Muddling helps to release the fruity flavors of the fruit, and helps the fruit to bind with the alcohol better. Without muddling, you just won’t have the same fruity, delicious flavor.
