Is this a Frozen Margarita?
A margarita is a cocktail that is made with tequila, orange liquor, and lime juice. It is often served with salt or sugar on the rim of the glass. A margarita can be served shaken with ice, blended with ice, or without ice. This recipe is missing the orange liquor or triple sec so it isn’t quite a margarita. However, one sip of it and you wouldn’t know any different. It tastes just like any other margarita you could make. If you want to turn it into a margarita just add a few drops of triple sec, or enjoy it as it is.

Boozy Strawberry Watermelon Limemade Ingredients
This recipe is great for large crowds as it makes 12-16 servings. Here’s what you need:
- 12 cups watermelon (diced)
- 4 cups strawberries (quartered)
- 12 ounces tequila (your choice)
- 6 cups ice
- 1 can frozen limemade
- Salt or Sugar For Rim
What’s the Best Tequila to Use?
Because this is a cocktail, you don’t have to use top of the shelf tequila. You do want a blanco or silver tequila though. In this recipe, we used Jose Cuervo. The Jose Cuervo gave this cocktail a musky yet smooth taste. I liked that you can taste the tequila through the cocktail, eliminating the burn, but keeping the bite! If you want a smoother drink, you can use Patron however, I am a fan of 1800 Tequila Silver.
How to Make Boozy Strawberry Watermelon Limemade
This recipe is super easy to make, and it is perfect for backyard BBQs or get togethers. Just follow the steps below!
Step 1
Dice up 12 cups of watermelon. Then cut your 4 cups of strawberries into quarters.
Step 2
Add diced watermelon, quartered strawberries, ice cubes, tequila, and frozen limemade in a large blender. You may need to work in batches and combine it all together in a large pitcher after it’s all mixed.
Step 3
Run a lime wedge around the outside of your glass and dip it into coarse salt or sugar. Add garnishes and enjoy!

If you want to switch this Boozy Strawberry Watermelon Limemade up, you can easily do it with these tips, tricks, and variations.
- You can cut this recipe in half or a quarter of it if you need to. We make LARGE batches because it’s so good and the limemade is pretty strong. So make sure if you do cut it down, that you cut down the amount of limemade you use.
- This can be non-alcoholic by simply leaving out the tequila. My kids drink it this way and love it.
- You can adjust the fruits to any that you like.
- If you don’t want it to be slushy, you can skip the ice and serve it in a glass with ice. It tastes good that way too. We prefer it slushy though.
