Create Your Plum Margarita

When you think tequila we are sure you don’t automatically think of mixing them with plums, but honestly it’s a surprisingly delicious flavor combination!

Plums are naturally sweet and tart and when boiled down and blended up make a really nice juice for a cocktail. Throw in some orange juice, lime juice, and of course tequila and you have your new favorite Margarita.

How About a Plum Mocktail?

We love a good mocktail! It’s always appreciative to guests when you have the option of a fun alcohol free drink that isn’t just regular pop or juice. To turn your plum Margarita into a mocktail you only have to replace one ingredient, tequila.

Replace your 6 oz of tequila with either alcohol free tequila or you can use sparkling water. It really depends if you are serving to those underage or those not drinking for personal reasons but would enjoy the taste of tequila still.

All other steps should remain the same to your mocktail tastes just as good as your tequila infused version.

Plum Alternative

If you are reading this recipe and thinking…wow that’s a lot of work to create a plum margarita, we understand! Life is busy and you may not have time to cook up some plums to create this drink.

You could create your plum juice ahead of time and store in the fridge or you can simply go to your local store and buy plum juice or plum syrup. If you do decide to purchase your plum juice you will need to omit the sugar and water from this recipe as it’s only required when using real plums. Taste test when adding to ensure you don’t overpower the rest of your drink.
