Today I’ve got a delicious, beautiful and shockingly easy adult treat for you: boozy cherry bombs.
As someone who doesn’t *get* chocolate covered strawberries, these are an amazing alternative to chocolate covered strawberries, that still fulfill a lot of the same function.
I know, I can hear your gasps. I loooove strawberries dipped in fresh, melty, gooey chocolate. But when it’s hard and cold? Ick. The textures don’t work and, at the end of the day, they’re an expensive or frustrating to make “meh”.
These schnapps soaked cherry bombs though, bring them on! They’re absolutely ideal as a fun Christmas treat for adults, or a gorgeous and sexy Valentine’s Day wow factor for your partner.
Did I also mention, they’re stupid easy to make?
There’s no painstaking rolling around in chocolate, taking up whole sections of your fridge and freezer with giant trays, rotting and different sized strawberries. Wow. Clearly I have a lot of negative opinions about those poor chocolate dipped strawberries!
Schnapps Soaked Cherry Bombs
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Maraschino Cherries, with stem
- ½ Cup Peppermint Schnapps
- ¼ Cup White Chocolate
- 6 Peppermint Candies, crushed
That’s it for ingredients! Even better? You can order them all from Amazon (except the Schnapps, of course), easy-peasy.
You want to get the “melting chocolate” or “white chocolate candy” round wafers, as they are designed to not require tempering in the same way as real chocolate. Aka, they are a lot easier to work with and won’t get grainy and lumpy on you nearly as easily as using a regular white chocolate bar. That said, you can always use what you have available and on hand, it will still work!
Instructions:

Directions:
- Rinse the maraschino cherries, and place in a container with ½ cup peppermint schnapps. Cover and let soak overnight, or at least 4 hours. Shake the container several times.
- Drain the schnapps from the cherries, and gently pat then dry.
- Melt the white chocolate until creamy, add in a bit of coconut oil if needed.

- Dip each cherry into the white chocolate twice, and then drag the bottom through the crushed peppermint candy.

- Set on wax paper, and let the chocolate firm.

- Keep away from children, and enjoy!
