Can I use a different chocolate?
Absolutely! You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and even some mint chocolate! There’s no rules when it comes to using chocolate!
Any type of chocolate listed above can work well with the peppermint candies and cherries. Consider making a few different types. Not only does this give you a nice selection of chocolates but they will also look very nice on your table!
Can I use a different alcohol?
Of course! Although we LOVE peppermint schnapps you can use other types of alcohol for your cherries. You can stick with a peppermint one or go with something else altogether.
If you are looking for another option, Vodka works very well and has many varieties that you can switch it up with. You can stick with the classic Vodka Peppermint or you can try other types.

Schnapps Soaked Cherry Bombs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Maraschino Cherries, with stem
- ½ Cup Peppermint Schnapps
- ¼ Cup White Chocolate
- 6 Peppermint Candies, crushed
Directions:
- Rinse the maraschino cherries, and place in a container.
- Add ½ cup peppermint schnapps.
- Shake the container several times. Cover and let soak overnight, or at least 4 hours.
- Drain the schnapps from the cherries, and gently pat then dry.
- Melt the white chocolate until creamy, add in a bit of coconut oil if needed.
- Dip each cherry into the white chocolate twice, and then drag the bottom through the crushed peppermint candy.
- Set on wax paper, and let the chocolate firm.
- Keep away from children, and enjoy!
