Hosting Tips For a Girl’s Wine Night

You really can’t go wrong with wine and your girls, but you can make it even better if you know what to do. Here are our amazing tips for hosting a girl’s wine night!

Start With the Wine

Start with wine

When you have a girl’s night out and you’re the one hosting, you must think of the wine first. Wine is everything, especially at a girl’s wine night. Because you’re going to be tasting wine, I think it’s important to know how to taste wine. Wine isn’t tasted like food, it is processed in a more time consuming manner.

The Smell of Wine

When it comes to wine, it’s important to understand that it has a certain smell. Each bottle of wine is going to smell different, which is why it’s important to take your time and smell it. After you pour the first glass of wine, smell it. Take a deep breath and let your brain process how it’s going to smell.

When you’re using your sense of smell, you’re able to taste the wine even better. Take your time smelling the wine and then the rest of wine tasting will go even smoother.

The Look of Wine

I personally think it’s important to look at the wine before you taste it. Taking time to observe and look at the wine can help the ladies at the wine tasting get an even better feel for the wine.

Looking at wine can help you see the color and the way the wine bounces back and forth in the glass. This may not be something that you’ve taken the time to do before, but definitely do it today.

Body of the Wine

Although this may be hard to know and understand, wine has body to it. The body of wine can be felt in your mouth. The body of a wine has three different flavors. The body of some wines might feel light, some medium, and some full.

Different wines are going to feel fuller than others. This is why it’s important to take the time to see the type of body the wine has. In the future, this will help you decide what types of wine you like. A lady’s wine night is the perfect time to try and enjoy different wines.

what you need for a girls wine night

Now that you know what goes into having a wine tasting night, you may need to know what supplies you need. When it comes to wine tasting, you can’t just have one or two bottles, you need several bottles. I wanted to share some ideas for what you can have available for girl’s wine night.

Wine Glasses

When it comes to hosting a girl’s wine night, you are going to need wine glasses. I like to have at least 2 wine glasses per person. If you don’t feel like washing dishes, you can always do the wine glasses that are plastic.

I like to order wine glasses off Amazon. They get here in 2-3 days, which means I don’t even need to go to the store for them. Ah, cross this off your supplies list because this is probably the easiest thing you’ll buy for your girl’s wine night.

Odd & End Wine Supplies

Having a wine night with the girls does require a few odd and end wine supplies. You’ll want to make sure you have everything on hand before the wine night starts!

  • Wine Opener – you can’t go wrong in picking a wine opener for wine night. Just pick one and go with it.
  • Fun Wine Themed Plates – I love to have fun wine themed plates on hand. Again, you can buy these on Amazon. You could also go to a party store and see if you can find any.
  • Water – you will also want to make sure you have water on hand. Some people prefer to clean their palette with water before they move onto the next wine.

Let’s Not Forget the Wine

Wine night

Since we are talking about hosting tips for a girl’s wine night, let’s not forget about the actual wine. This is a pretty lenient part of hosting a wine party. YOU GET TO CHOOSE THE WINE. If you want to choose only cheap wines, go for it.

If you’d rather do fancy wines, go for it. When I host a girl’s wine night, I like to have red or white wines and 4-6 different types. I like to stick with white wine or red wines and not mix them together. Yes again, this is your wine party, so you get to call the shots.

You could also have each girl bring their own bottle of wine. Do whatever makes this night easier for YOU. Most of the women, that you’re inviting, most likely have a bottle of wine sitting at home, waiting to be consumed.

Don’t Forget the Chocolate

Chocolate and wine

Most women that host a wine night, also want to have chocolate at their wine nights. Wine and chocolate go together like peanut butter and jelly. Chocolate makes wine night just a little sweeter. For those of you hosting a girl’s wine night, then consider serving chocolate right along side the wine.

Some ideas for different chocolates you can serve:

The Last Step

The last tip for hosting a girl’s wine night is to set up for the party. You will want to make sure there is plenty of space for everyone to sit back and enjoy the party.

Set up everything first! You’ll want to have everything set up before the girls get there.

Let the girls pick out their wine! The next step is letting everyone pick out their wine. Everyone can try the same wine at the same time or everyone can try different wines.

Grab a piece of chocolate. Like I said before, wine and chocolate are delicious together. Let the girls grab some chocolate too.

The last step in hosting a girl’s wine night is to enjoy yourself. All of this hard work and now you can sit back, relax, and enjoy!
