Wait, What’s Black Rum?
You may be reading our ingredient list and wondering…what exactly is Black rum? You aren’t alone. Black rum and Dark rum go hand in hand. They are named for their color. Which usually is from distillers heavy use of molasses or caramel during distillation. Dark and Black rums can also be artificially colored to appear darker than they would otherwise be naturally from ageing or from molasses. So if you are looking for top quality do a little research!
Dark and Black rums are usually more rich and strong flavors compared to other rums. Typical they have strong flavors of caramel, vanilla, fruits, or even licorice. So when it comes to deciding the right one you want make sure you read the flavor profile on your bottle!
Let’s Make it a Mocktail
Turning our Black Pearl cocktail into a mocktail requires replacing a few ingredients! Don’t worry it will still taste amazing!
Vodka: Replace your vodka with either soda water or non-alcoholic vodka. We suggest using soda water if you plan to serve those under age, if its for those not drinking that are of legal age consider the non-alcoholic vodka option. you can find this at most grocery stores drink section or even in you local liquor store.
Black Rum: For replacing your black rum you have three options: cola, non-alcoholic rum, or molasses with a splash of vanilla added. If you want to create more of a dark look you can add some black food coloring it.
Black Raspberry Liqueur: This ones easy, replace this with black raspberry juice! If you arent able to find black raspberry you can use raspberry juice or blend up some raspberries to create a juice. Personal preference for this one.
Grape pucker juice: Use your favorite grape juice for this one, keep the flavors the same! A darker grape juice will help create the color we are looking for as well.
Your Cranberry, unicorn syrup, and gold cake shimmer will remain the same! Play with your flavors to decide which options to replacing your alcoholic work best! Enjoy!
