If there’s one thing to know about my opinion of the SoCal wine scene. It’s that I’m a huge sucker for the mission/old Spanish inspired architecture of red clay tiles, white masonry and barrels. This, Rose’s Tasting room has in droves, because visiting their wine and beer tasting room is like walking into a Mission style ranch! This is a dream tasting room for me, so what else makes it a must visit?
The specialty of Rose’s is the wide range, and variety of local wines and beers they showcase in their gorgeous establishment. Surrounding breweries and wineries send their best, so you can have the opportunity to taste the craft of the local area, in one convenient (and lively!) location.
This North Park district winery is located in a bustling part of town, with lots of emerging businesses including retail and cultural venues! This is where they feature some of the winery’s finest wines. This is one winery that prides itself on making totally local craft wines. They have a hearty selection of reds and whites, including a delicious Temranillo, Sangiovese, and a lovely collection of locally sourced Chardonnays. Head on down to North Park for an enjoyable glass of wine, and slow-down for a little while in their relaxing tasting room.
Blue Door is a San Diego starlet that’s been shining for some time. Their beloved urban winery is a staple, consisting of a full-production facility where you can taste the wine while the winemaking process is in full swing! Sometimes, guests can even watch and get hands-on experience with winemaking to become more immersed in the wine they’re tasting.
This is a great place to go wine tasting in San Diego if you want to see winemaking up close, and learn some tips about home winemaking the staff is more than happy to share with you. Blue Door, like many other local area vintners, view their craft as an art. And they’re more than happy to give you an impassioned look behind the curtain!
